About the Course

In this course, learners will engage in problem-solving activities that revolve around two-dimensional figures, with a particular emphasis on circles. They will develop the ability to solve both mathematical and real-world problems related to the area of polygons or composite figures by decomposing them into triangles or quadrilaterals. Additionally, learners will explore the proportional relationship between the circumferences and diameters of circles.

A key aspect of this course is the application of a formula for the circumference of a circle, which will enable learners to solve various mathematical and real-world problems. They will also develop proficiency in solving problems involving the dimensions and areas of geometric figures, including scale drawings and scale factors.

Furthermore, learners will be equipped with the skills to find the surface area and volume of a right circular cylinder by using the figure's net, within the context of both mathematical and real-world scenarios. This comprehensive 6-week course aims to provide learners with a solid foundation in the principles and applications of two-dimensional figures, particularly focusing on circles, and their relevance in problem-solving contexts.
