About the Course
The objective of this 6-week course is to enhance learners' ability to accurately measure the length of objects and apply this skill to problem-solving scenarios. The course emphasizes the importance of selecting and utilizing appropriate measurement tools for different attributes of objects.
Throughout the lessons, learners will be introduced to various systems of measurement, including yards, feet, inches, kilometers, meters, centimeters, millimeters, pounds, ounces, kilograms, grams, gallons, quarts, pints, cups, liter, milliliter, as well as hours, minutes, and seconds. The course will provide ample opportunities for learners to practice converting measurements within a single system of measurement.
Moreover, the course aims to equip learners with the ability to solve two-step real-world problems involving distances, intervals of time, and money using any combination of the four operations. By applying their measurement skills and mathematical knowledge, learners will be able to effectively solve problems that require them to determine distances, measure intervals of time, and calculate monetary values.
By the end of this 6-week course, learners will have developed a strong foundation in measurement, enabling them to confidently measure the length of objects and solve real-world problems involving distances, intervals of time, and money. The course will provide a comprehensive understanding of various measurement systems and equip learners with the necessary skills to select and use appropriate tools for measurement. Through practice and application, learners will be able to apply their knowledge to solve complex, two-step problems, further enhancing their problem-solving abilities.
