About the Course

In this 6-week course, students will develop their understanding and proficiency in various geometric concepts. They will learn to accurately describe and visually represent different geometric figures such as points, lines, line segments, rays, intersecting lines, perpendicular lines, and parallel lines. Through collaborative activities, students will have the opportunity to challenge their knowledge of geometric vocabulary and apply it in real-life scenarios.

Another important aspect of this course is the identification and drawing of quadrilaterals based on their defining attributes. Students will learn to recognize and distinguish between different types of quadrilaterals, such as rectangles, squares, parallelograms, and trapezoids. By understanding the defining characteristics of each quadrilateral, students will be able to accurately identify and draw them, further enhancing their geometric skills.

Furthermore, students will also engage in problem-solving activities that involve the calculation of perimeter and area of rectangles. By applying formulas and mathematical reasoning, students will develop their ability to determine the total distance around a rectangle as well as the amount of space it occupies. These problem-solving exercises will not only strengthen their understanding of rectangles but will also develop their critical thinking and analytical skills.

Overall, this 6-week course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of geometric concepts and their practical application. By the end of the course, students will have developed the skills necessary to accurately describe and draw geometric figures, identify quadrilaterals based on their defining attributes, and solve problems involving the perimeter and area of rectangles.
